I am an award-winning Public Relations professional and former Broadcast Journalist with 21 years of experience. I know how to prepare you for what to do when the media calls. I am also a skilled and effective communicator who knows how to establish and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal leaders.
I am the Director of Public Relations for AltaPointe Health. It is Alabama's largest health and human services organization. AltaPointe provides more than 1 million services to more than 35,000 individuals each year in our residential, outpatient, psychiatric hospital, and primary care settings. Our continuum of care expands across seven counties in Alabama and employs 1500 staff members. As the PR director, I oversee our media relations, internal communications, social media management, digital marketing efforts, speakers bureau, and brand management.
My television broadcast career took me all over the Gulf Coast, including stops in Alabama and Florida. I have covered natural disasters (including Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina), the 2000 presidential recount, and flown with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
I am also an experienced courtroom reporter, who has covered numerous high-profile capital murder cases, the prosecution of a former circuit court judge, and political corruption at the federal level.
I have served as a Weekend Anchor, Daybreak Anchor, Live@Five Anchor, and 4 p.m. Weekday Anchor. While at the helm, the Daybreak show was 16th in the nation for its time slot. I was also a part of the Capital Press Corps under Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
The Associated Press has recognized my work and the National Press Photographers Association Clip Contest, Public Relations Council of Alabama, Southern Public Relations Federation, and the Alabama Hospital Association.
I have served on numerous community boards and committees, including the following organizations: Public Relations Council of Alabama - Mobile Chapter, Daphne Strike Soccer Club, Village Park Vision Committee, Gulf Coast Rangers Football Club, and the Better Business Bureau.
