Jo Tapper, MBA, joined Shepherd Center in October of 2021. In this role, she provides leadership for the marketing and public relations team, which is part of the Office of Advancement. She also serves as a member of the senior management team (SMT).
Before joining Shepherd, Jo served as executive director of cardiovascular strategy and professional services for Piedmont Healthcare, where she oversaw cardiovascular business strategy and growth, program development, clinical research and continuing medical education across the health system. She played a vital role in the Piedmont Heart Institute branding refresh and their large facility expansion project.
Jo has also served in financial operations leadership at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and as a healthcare consultant for academic and community providers around the country. She received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia.
Jo enjoys traveling to national parks with her husband and two sons, and doing DIY projects around the house.
