We are deeply saddened to share with SHSMD members that Terri McNorton, a longtime member of the society, passed away on New Year’s Day. Terri was an amazing person and outstanding professional who made countless contributions to SHSMD during her distinguished career, including:
- Serving two terms on the SHSMD Board.
- Serving as a leader and member of the Annual Conference Committee for multiple years.
- Participating in numerous other SHSMD committees and task forces in the areas of finance, member experience, new member orientation, member awards and recognition, and member scholarships, to name a few.
- Supporting major society initiatives, such as Bridging Worlds/SHSMD ADVANCE.
To recognize her many years of service to SHSMD and her exemplary career in health care marketing and communications, Terri was the recipient of SHSMD’s Leadership Excellence Award in 2016.
Over the years the Society has acknowledged and honored individual members' influence, impact and memory. This year we will be honoring Terri by dedicating the 2019 Rising Star award to her memory and we will reflect on her legacy at the 2019 annual conference award ceremony.
