As Chief Marketing and Communication Officer, I direct and integrate all marketing and communication activities at America’s largest pediatric academic medical center, Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
I’m inspired every day by our mission to provide top-quality care for children around the world, as well as by the 50+ talented and dedicated associates I manage. Our team is focused on keeping our hospital connected to our community, our patients, our physicians and our staff. The work we do supports all aspects of the hospital, including the Research Institute and Foundation.
I am energized every day by being part of an organization so dedicated to helping children, in a role that allows me to:
• oversee and direct a multi-million dollar marketing and communications budget
• develop strategies that promote the organization’s tactical plans
• provide communication advice to the people associated with hospital operations
My leadership philosophy—inspired in part by my father, who taught me to live with purpose—is based in leading by example. That means working with energy, creativity and determination and giving back to the community. I also surround myself with super smart people, and stay open to learning by listening carefully and practicing curiosity.
When I’m not in the office, I love to scuba dive around the world, from Mexico to Micronesia, exploring, taking photos and enjoying the pure spectacle of nature underwater. Diving is like meditation—it quiets and opens your mind, expands your senses and sparks creative and innovative ideas.
