Turn Your Patient Portal into a Powerful Tool!

By The SHSMD Team posted 9 days ago

By 2015, in fact, 69 percent of hospitals were giving their patients access to view, download, and transmit their health data; and 63 percent were providing secure patient-provider messaging, according to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.

It also seems that everyone—hospitals and patients alike—finds portals challenging. Regardless, hospitals still need these electronic tools to meet Meaningful Use requirements.

HealthEast, a four-hospital system serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul region, was determined to make good use of its patient portal—to improve health outcomes by sharing proactive, consistent health information that patients could access anywhere. They did this by integrating two digital health tools—the health system’s Epic patient portal and the UbiCare patient engagement solution—into a seamless patient experience called MyPregnancy Tracker.

More Satisfied, More Engaged
